Many departments and people within the museum are working together to get ready for Wari: Lords of the Ancient Andes. For instance, conservators and the curator are in constant collaboration to accomplish this goal. Between 600 and 1000, long before the Inca, the Wari forged a complex society widely regarded today as ancient Peru’s first empire.

Inside the Parade Tent: Preparing for Parade the Circle

If you’ve visited Wade Oval in recent weeks, you may have noticed the large white tent that took up residence next to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History in late April. This is the Cleveland Museum of Art’s parade workshop tent, an annual fixture that serves as a home base for guest artists, community groups, and families and individuals participating in Parade the Circle.

Behind The Scenes: Winter Lights Lantern Festival and The Environment of Lights

The museumpresents the 18th annual Winter Lights Lantern Festival on view now through January 16. The lanterns are displayed outside on Wade Oval, inside the museum, and for the first time, on the new east wing terrace. Inspired by cross-cultural ceremonial lighting traditions, the community arts festival is a seasonal museum celebration.
