Four New Members Elected to the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Board of Trustees

CLEVELAND (September 16, 2013) – The Cleveland Museum of Art announced today that William B. Hartmann, Katherine Templeton O’Neill, Dominic L. Ozanne and Paul E. Westlake, Jr. have been elected to five-year terms as standing members of the museum’s Board of Trustees. The Cleveland Museum of Art Board of Trustees will oversee the completion of the museum’s renovation and expansion project. The largest of its kind by a cultural institution, the $350 million project will be complete by year’s end with the opening of the new west wing in December. The board of trustees will also continue preparations on the museum’s centennial celebration in 2016.

Incoming Board of Trustees Members

William L. Hartmann is Chief Risk Officer of KeyCorp and is a member of KeyCorp's Executive Leadership Team and Executive Council. He serves as vice chair of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee. Prior to joining Key in 2010, Hartmann spent 29 years with Citigroup where his last position was Global Head of Large Corporate Risk Management. He began his banking career at American National Bank & Trust Company in Chicago. Hartmann earned his bachelor's degree in Economics from Albion College in Michigan and an MBA from Northwestern University.

Hartmann was actively involved in the formation of the Loan Syndications & Trading Association and is a past chairman of the Documentation Standards Committee. In Cleveland, Hartmann is a member of the Leadership Cleveland class of 2012 and a board member of ideastream®.

Katherine Templeton O’Neill is actively involved in the areas of health and medical education, fund raising, museum administration, organizational development and human resources. O’Neill’s experience ranges from professorships at various nursing schools, to fundraising for the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, to administrator of the Chisholm Halle Costume Wing of the Western Reserve Historical Society. She also served as the fashion editor for Currents Magazine for over twelve years.

O’Neill has served or serves on a number of professional and community boards, including the Cleveland Ballet, Cleveland Health Museum, Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland Institute of Music, The Music Settlement, The Cleveland Play House, Cleveland Scholarship Programs, Cleveland State University Foundation, Cuyahoga Community College Foundation, The Generation Foundation, Great Lakes Science Center, Hathaway Brown School, Musical Arts Association, United Way Services, Ursuline College, Visiting Nurses Association and the William J. and Dorothy K. O’Neill Foundation.

O’Neill holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree from Boston University in nursing with a clinical specialization in psychiatric nursing. She also completed graduate studies at St. Clare’s Hall, Oxford, England, in anthropology and statistics.

Dominic L. Ozanne is President and C.E.O. of Ozanne Construction Company, a general contracting and construction management firm doing business in Ohio and Louisiana. Prior to joining the construction company, Dominc practiced law at Thompson Hine for two years.

His civic activities include Breakthrough Charter Schools (board member), Case Western Reserve University (trustee), Finance Advisory Council, Catholic Diocese of Cleveland (member) and St. Ignatius High School (Regent). Dominic received his BS/BA from Boston University in 1975 and his JD from Harvard Law School in 1978. He resides in Pepper Pike, Ohio with his wife, Gaile. They have 4 children.

Paul E. Westlake Jr., FAIA, is Managing Principal and a Lead Designer in the firm of Westlake Reed Leskosky. Mr. Westlake was one of the youngest architects to have been elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects and is a recipient of an AIA Gold Medal, the highest honor that AIA bestows on an individual. Mr. Westlake is also a recipient of over 150 significant design awards for new construction and renovation, and has been recognized in over 1,000 publications. His designs encompass a range of widely exhibited and published projects – from major performing arts facilities, museums and health care complexes to workplace environments and education institutions.

Mr. Westlake received a Masters of Architecture with Faculty Commendation from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where he co-founded the Harvard Architecture Review, recognized internationally as a leading journal of architectural theory, and was a Graham Foundation and AIA Foundation Scholar. He also received a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude with Distinction in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, College of Arts and Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Economics, Magna Cum Laude from the Wharton School, with a major in finance.

Mr. Westlake is a trustee of the Cleveland Orchestra and the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, and served formerly as trustee of the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Cleveland Arts Prize, the Phoenix Orpheum Theatre and the League of Historic American Theatre as well as commissioner of Architecture for the United States Institute of Theatre Technology.
