Sammy DeLeon, Latin dance lessons and special menus celebrate Latin jazz at MIX: Con Alma on November 4

Cleveland (October 26, 2022)—The Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) will host MIX: Con Alma, an exciting, upbeat night of art, music and dance on Friday, November 4, from 6 to 10 p.m. Con Alma—“with soul” in Spanish—commences as the Day of the Dead is celebrated globally. This ticketed event will feature two high-energy sets of Latin jazz with a twist, courtesy of Sammy DeLeon, one of the most recognized timbales players in Northeast Ohio and a fixture in the regional Latin jazz scene.

MIX: Con Alma guests will move and groove “with soul” throughout the evening, visiting galleries and enjoying all that the CMA has to offer. Latin dance classes will be offered at 6 p.m. Guests can also view Impressionism to Modernism: The Keithley Collection—an extraordinary new collection of more than 100 masterworks and the largest gift of art to the museum in more than 60 years—at no additional charge.

“The community is so excited to have MIX come back after the pandemic, and the con alma theme is a timely way to bring art, culture and community together in a really exciting way,” said Gabe Pollack, director of performing arts at the CMA. “MIX: Con Alma gives us the opportunity to highlight Latin culture in an unforgettable evening.”

Available for purchase will be a Latin-themed menu of Bon Appétit’s signature macaroni and cheese or chorizo and green-chili mac, baked beef empanada, braised chicken or jackfruit tacos, deconstructed tamales, Mexican shrimp cocktail, chocolate mousse, elote corn cup, and other special food and bar selections.

Tickets for this highly anticipated event are available for purchase. Tickets are free for CMA members, $12 for nonmembers when purchased in advance and $15 for nonmembers when purchased online on November 4. If available, nonmember tickets will be $20 at the door. Advance purchases are strongly recommended, as this event is expected to sell out quickly.

Normal member and nonmember parking rates apply.
