Discover modern masterpieces, pop culture trivia and wry humor in Gloria: Robert Rauschenberg & Rachel Harrison, the first exhibition to pair Rauschenberg's iconic combines with the sharp sculpture of internationally acclaimed artist Rachel Harrison. Assistant curator of contemporary art, Beau Rutland, will provide insights on how one artist’s vision inspired another with a Curator Talk on the exhibition at 7:30 p.m.
Then, celebrate the last days of summer outside on the museum’s South Terrace, with the joyously hypnotic and lightning fast rhythms of Nigerien rock star’s Tal National. In addition to being praised by the New York Times as one of the top ten albums of 2013 (alongside Lorde and David Bowe), Tal National’s openhearted vision very deliberately includes musicians from Niger’s various ethnic cultures, making each song a fusion and a coalition.
