A horizontally oriented bronze medal displays two circular faces in dark relief. On our left, a profile of a man wearing a laurel wreath and military uniform faces left, framed by arched text. On our right, a naval scene depicts sailing ships firing into a coastal city under a crescent moon, plumes of smoke rising between them. Inscribed text sits in a lower register below the battle. The surface shows a rich, deep brown patina.
