Description

Affixed to a section of white shell is the image of a Wari dignitary, assembled of carefully carved mosaic elements. The purple and pink shapes are made of shell, while the green is serpentine. The spots on the figure's tunic are probably pyrite, which was originally smooth and reflective.
A shell and stone mosaic ornament depicts a stylized figure inlaid against a vertical, off-white rectangular base. The figure has an orange face with wide-set eyes and wears a purple headdress with green trim. A purple tunic, decorated with dark circular studs and a green collar, covers the torso. One orange arm ends in a silver-banded clenched fist, while the other is missing, the figure staring directly forward.
