Description

This is one of several pages that were removed from a unique manuscript of this otherwise unknown work, which bears a colophon stating that it was written by the author and finished "Ramadan, 741" (February 1341). Illustrations on both sides include various animals, trees, and objects such as weapons, musical instruments, and jewels.
A vertically oriented watercolor and ink painting features four horizontal registers separated by black calligraphy. At the top, four stylized green trees stand against a light background. Below, on a red field, a horned creature, a purple elephant with a gold saddle, and two large birds face left. The third register displays gold vessels on orange. Finally, three birds and a hedgehog face leftward across a red bottom register.
