Description

Louis Faurer caught this poignant, awkward moment between four people waiting outside the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, all dressed up and not enjoying themselves. Are they tourists or New Yorkers? The two boys are probably brothers, but are the adults their parents or grandparents? Or is the woman a stranger, unamused by their antics? Faurer’s photographs are about emotions, not facts. “I have an intense desire to record life as I see it, as I feel it,” he said.
