About The Event
Stop by the Cleveland Museum of Art between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to get a firsthand look at the art-making process. Each session provides the opportunity to engage and interact with a different Northeast Ohio maker during pop-up demonstrations and activities. See their work unfold and learn how artists create. Explore a related selection of authentic objects from the CMA’s education art collection in a pop-up Art Up Close session. See, think, and wonder.
Join us for a special outdoor edition of Artist in the Atrium with artist Dustin Grella as he brings his animation bus to Cleveland! Learn the basic principles of animation by making your own flip-book or thaumatrope with help from Grella, or flex your creative muscles by drawing on the chalkboard side of the bus. Get inspired by the CMA’s permanent collection and use your imagination to make your own animation.
This program is weather dependent. In the event of rain or high temperatures, the program takes place inside the museum.
