About The Event
Beloved by museumgoers worldwide, the art of Impressionism is appreciated for the spontaneity of its brushwork, its vibrant colors, and its fleeting effects of light painted en plein air. Meanwhile, the Impressionists themselves are often celebrated as misunderstood rebels, who fought against the tyranny of the French Salon. Yet, the stories of Impressionism and Impressionist works of art are often much more complex than typically acknowledged. Join graduate curatorial fellow Jillian Kruse for a special class, which explores new perspectives on some of the Impressionist works in the collection.
