About The Event
Acquired by the CMA in 2025, the Fata Morgana is one of only around a dozen sculptures in marble by Giambologna. This rare and internationally renowned figure is now on view in a gallery evoking the Tuscan grotto in which it was originally placed.
Members of the Painting and Drawing Society are invited to a presentation on the acquisition and display of the Fata Morgana with Cory Korkow, curator of European paintings and sculpture, 1500–1800, and Alexander Noelle, Henry and Anne Ott-Hansen Family Associate Curator of European Paintings and Sculpture, 1500–1800. A reception follows the presentation.
This event is for members of the Painting and Drawing Society. Eligible members receive an invitation via email.
