About The Event
Committed to expanding the possibilities of chamber music, the _____ Experiment (pronounced “The Blank Experiment”) brings contemporary music to audiences through innovative programming and collaborations with composers from around the world. Founded in 2017 by Andrew Hosler and Michelle Cusick, the ensemble has commissioned more than 30 new works and has appeared at events, including Bowling Green State University’s Praecepta Mini-Fest, while continuing to champion new music through performances and educational outreach. The ensemble consists of Cusick (clarinet), Hosler (saxophone), Ava Wirth (oboe), and Maya Grossman (bassoon).
For this concert, the _____ Experiment presents a program of original music by the Cleveland Composers Guild. The guild is among the nation’s oldest new music organizations and has counted more than 200 members since its founding. In recent seasons, the guild has collaborated with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, the Cleveland Chamber Choir, the Cleveland Cello Society, the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, OPUS 216, the Factory Seconds Brass Trio, and the Poiesis Quartet.
