Directed by John Baptist Lucius Noel. The third attempt to scale Mount Everest (by climbers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine, who both perished in the attempt) is documented in this remarkable silent film shot on a hand-cranked camera in brutal conditions. The movie, which is also one of the earliest filmed records of life in Tibet, has been restored by the British Film Institute with a new music score by Simon Fisher Turner. Cleveland revival premiere.
