Part of Ohio City Stages 2017
Joan Soriano plays steel string bachata, a genre of music essential to Dominican culture that draws upon a variety of influences from Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. Soriano creates danceable music by blending bachata with sacred Afro-Dominican traditions.
This engagement of Joan Soriano is made possible through Southern Exposure: Performing Arts of Latin America, a program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
