About The Event
Les Délices (pronounced “Lay Day-lease”) delights, inspires, educates, and expands audiences for music on period instruments through innovative programming and world-class performances. With deep roots in the Northeast Ohio community, Les Délices is building a national reputation as a leader in the field of early music, advancing its relevance and sustainability. This afternoon, Les Délices performs J. S. Bach’s The Musical Offering.
The Musical Offering is a tour de force collection in which a single melody is continuously transformed in ways that challenge both the imagination and the intellect. Les Délices offers a guided tour of this incredible, rarely performed work, elucidating Bach’s rich counterpoint through instrumental colors, including violins, viola, flute, oboe da caccia, bassoon, cello, and harpsichord.
