Material Matters Gallery Talk
Nature’s Art Materials
About The Event
Have you ever wondered how artworks in the CMA’s collection are cared for? Join CMA conservators and technicians for guided tours of the galleries. Investigate artists’ materials and processes and learn about how the museum preserves artworks for the future.
Just in time for Earth Day, join Objects Conservator Beth Edelstein for a tour of artworks that were made with earth and plant materials. Discover how artists transformed their natural surroundings into works of art, and how art conservators work to identify and preserve these materials.
Gallery talks meet at the information desk in the Ames Family Atrium.
