In-Person Studio Programs for Teens and Adults

Join experienced practicing artists in our studios to play with ideas and materials while developing skills and techniques. All skill levels are welcome.

  • If minimum enrollment is not met one week before the first class, the session for that class will be canceled, all enrolled participants will be notified, and refunds will be issued; no further registrations will be accepted to reinstate the class.
  • Supply lists and class syllabi are provided within one week of the first class date unless otherwise noted.
  • Supplies must be purchased by participants. Some supplies may be provided.
  • High schoolers may enroll in adult classes with guardian permission.

 

Adult In-Person, 8-Week Class Series (Ages 16+)
Drawing in the Galleries
Wednesdays, April 20–June 8, 2022, 1:30–4:00 p.m.

Registration opens Monday, April 4, and closes Friday, April 15.

Interpret natural light in the glass box galleries as well as sculpture and painting throughout the museum. Learn to see light as contrasting shape, adding structure and detail with line, tone, and color. Begin drawing in charcoal. Advance to graphite and colored conté pastel. All levels are welcome, including high school students.

Adult In-Person, 8-Week Class Series (Ages 16+)
Composition in Oil or Acrylic
Thursdays, April 21–June 9, 2022, 1:30–4:00 p.m.

Registration opens Monday, April 4, and closes Friday, April 15.

Aesthetic expression emerges as compositions are refined with contrasting color, pattern, tone, and line. Charcoal drawing on the first day leads to underpainting, wet-on-wet blending, and glazing. All levels are welcome, including high school students.
