About The Event

Painting and Drawing Society members are invited to join Seth Pevnick, curator of Greek and Roman art, for Love, Dawn, and Other Winged Figures: A Short Tour from Classical to Neoclassical. This tour, beginning with Greek, Etruscan, and Roman art from the 5th century BC to the 1st century AD, will explore Eros (Love), Eos (Dawn), Nike (Victory), and other winged classical figures on view at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Seth will then consider some related Neoclassical examples, and the influence that newly discovered ancient art may have had on European art in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Following the tour, members will enjoy a cocktail reception in the Michael J. Horvitz Private Dining Room.

Painting and Drawing Society members will receive a digital invitation.
