About The Event
Explore American art from colonial portraiture to contemporary abstraction. This course surveys the history of American visual art and its cultural contexts from the 1700s until the present. Lectures introduce American artists and artistic movements, with visits to the galleries providing an in-depth exploration of American art in the museum's collection.
