MIX is a 21+ event.
Art, music, cocktails: something different every month.
MIX: Egyptomania, an exhilarating evening of art, music, projections, and dance, coincides with the opening of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s fashion exhibition, Egyptomania: Fashion’s Conflicted Obsession. Explore the museum’s galleries and make sure to visit the exhibition both in the Arlene M. and Arthur S. Holden Textile Gallery (234) and the Egyptian art gallery (107) to learn about the influence of ancient Egyptian art and culture throughout fashion history. Party to the thunderous brass sounds and mischievously playful grooves of modern dance music with Beauty Slap. DJ Hama will be spinning multiple sets of North African, Middle Eastern, and Arabic beats. Delicious food items and delectable cocktails, beer, and wine will be available to purchase from Bon Appétit. Guests are also invited to view the museum’s newest special exhibition, The Tudors: Art and Majesty in Renaissance England. We cannot wait for you to enjoy this spectacular event.
More info about Beauty Slap can be found on their website.
6:00-7:15 p.m.: DJ Hama

8:45 p.m-10:00p.m.: DJ Hama
*The Cleveland Museum of Art is not attempting to relive the 1920s appropriative version of the Egyptomania craze, but if you have any contemporary outfits that subtly nod to ancient Egyptian references or pieces designed by contemporary Egyptian designers, not costumes of any sort, the museum welcomes you to show them off. Speaking of Egyptian designers, the museum store will be selling merchandise from Egyptian-based company NAGADA, so guests can take a bit of traditional Egyptian textile practice home.
