Family Play Day

Play Day: Illuminate

Join us on a captivating journey to explore the mesmerizing beauty of light through lantern making, objects from the education art collection, activities led by the CMA’s conservation team, and interactive games. Play Days at the CMA are opportunities for the whole family to be creative, be curious, and connect with art.

The event features the following activities:

Lantern Making

Using the CMA’s Tiffany lamps as inspiration, make your own “stained glass” lantern.

Free; timed ticket required. Tickets are available at the welcome table.

Explore the Education Art Collection

View and learn about artworks from the education art collection.

Zoom In on Real Artworks

Examine objects from the collection with the help of CMA conservators and find hidden details.

Giant Lite-Bright

Create images using color and light with our giant lite-bright.

Glow Village

Play and relax in our village of small glowing tents.
