Play Day: Transform

South Terrace and Fine Arts Garden

Join us this fall as we explore the wonders of transformation. Play Days at the CMA are opportunities for the whole family to be creative, be curious, and connect through art.

This fall’s program focuses on the power of art and creativity to transform our minds and the world around us, inspired by the artworks of Cleveland-based artists, such as Audra Skuodas and Edwin Mieczkowski. The afternoon includes art-making activities, collaborative projects, music, games, and more. Visit the David and Helen Kangesser Gallery (228A) to see artworks by Skuodas, Mieczkowski, and other local artists.

The event features the following activities:

  • Mending with artist Maggie Latham

  • Rug tufting and punch-needle embroidery with artist Marisa Olson

  • Bubble painting

  • Kaleidoscope making inspired by Op Art

  • Mindfulness stone painting

  • Poetry busking with local poet Zenaida Smith

  • An interactive poetry wall

  • Mask making

  • Free popcorn from Chagrin Falls Popcorn
  • Games and more!
