About The Event

We invite you to the Community Arts Center for a workshop inspired by upcycled vintage Maya textiles, on display through October 15. Take a close look at reimagined materials, former garments turned into household or other wearable items. Learn essential sewing machine techniques with artist Sue Berry. Techniques include threading, stitching, and fabric handling. Use fabric scraps to design and collage your own personal tote bag. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this hands-on experience can spark your creativity and leave you with a stylish accessory.

Reserve your spot by emailing commartsinfo@clevelandart.org.

Sue Berry loves fabric in all its incarnations, from making it to making things with it. She creates costumes, utilitarian items, and art. She has worked with Parade the Circle for many years and is excited to teach those who may be starting their sewing journey.
