DANCE/PERFORMANCE | Marcia Custer is a movement- and sound-based performance artist with a penchant for both the bizarre and the sublime. She works as a choreographer, movement educator for adults of all abilities, sound artist, and creative producer in Cleveland. Her original work has been performed at Pitchfork Music Festival, Elastic Arts Chicago, Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (moCa), Transformer Station, and basements, backyards, and bookstores across the US. A graduate of Kent State University’s department of dance, Custer’s performance work is rooted in feminist and queer approaches to embodiment, experimental sound, and radical community dance practice. She is currently facilitating weekly OPEN Movement sessions virtually on Zoom.
DJ | Haley Himiko Hudson Morris is an installation artist, designer, and singer in bands Pleasure Leftists and Donkey Bugs in Cleveland. She has hosted the Pleasure Leftists radio show on WCSB since 2010. Recently she completed public art for Miriam Ortiz Rush Park in Cleveland’s Detroit Shoreway neighborhood and has had for several years running installations via Ingenuity festival and Brite Winterfest including “Himiko Gogo’s Dirty Disco” and “Himikoland.” She has a penchant for elements of whimsy, humor, pastels, bright colors, and patterns in her work, obsesses over postmodern and ’80s interior design, and plans themed dance parties that feature interactive installations, including Mahall’s annual NYE party in Lakewood, OH.
VISUALS | Ben Oblivion is an artist currently operating in Cleveland. Ben is a graduate of the sculpture + expanded media program at the Cleveland Institute of Art. His installation work has been seen at Ingenuity Fest 2017 and at SPACES Gallery for its 2019 benefit. Ben is the host and organizer of Conundrum Co-Op, a semi-regular “open-mic” of sorts for performance art, housed at Maelstrom Collaborative Arts. Ben has performed in many of Maelstrom’s shows as well as alongside Chicago experimental comedy troop HellTrap Nightmare. He is widely known for his beloved collaboration with fellow performance artist Marcia Custer, Two Divorced Moms.
