Dive into the wealth of digital resources CMA has to offer below.

ArtLens AI

With ArtLens AI, instead of life imitating art, art imitates your life. Share your view with us to see matches from our Open Access Collection.

Virtual Dashboards

Since launching our Open Access Initiative in 2019, CMA has been asking "How is Open Access making an impact?" CMA's live virtual dashboards update daily, and measure engagement on CMA's Collection Online, Open Access API, and Wikipedia. It's exciting to see the difference in access across these platforms, as well as the exponential effect Open Access can have on the reach of our collection.

ArtLens for Slack

Missing those watercooler moments with your coworkers? Explore the collection and join in daily art-inspired conversation through ArtLens for Slack, the CMA's new daily exhibition app for remote workers.

Collection Online

Access every object in the CMA’s collection, more than 61,000 artwork records, like never before. Explore high-resolution images and in-depth interpretive content. Search for works with videos or 3D models, and learn more with up to 36 fields of metadata for each object, including provenance, exhibition history, and citations. Take advantage of the CMA’s powerful advanced search options to find new favorites in the collection.

Open Access

Share, collaborate, remix, and reuse images of any public-domain artworks in our collection through the CMA’s Open Access initiative. Additionally, access metadata for the museum's entire world-renowned collection. Explore the CMA’s Open Access collection from our Collection Online, through our API, or through our online partner repositories. Check out exciting projects from artists, educators, developers, and data scientists engaging with our Open Access collection on the blog.

ArtLens App

The CMA's ArtLens App allows users to explore and connect with the collection from anywhere. A great resource for all, including students and educators, the ArtLens App allows you to create custom tours, then share with your friends or classmates. You can browse through an interactive map, favorite artworks, listen to videos from our curators, and search for hidden content using the app's scan feature!

Engage and Create

Explore your curiosity and practice your creative thinking skills with fun, playful activities and challenges inspired by works of art from the CMA's collection. All experiences can be enjoyed from home.

Behind the Beat

Behind the Beat is a series featuring composers and performers in the time of isolation. While the twin pillars of performing arts - global travel and gathering together for a shared experience - are impossible, artists are reflecting on their work, both past and future. This series celebrates the legacy of music at the museum and uniquely illuminates aspects of the museum's collection.

Video Series

In CMA's special video series, CMA curators and staff share insights on current exhibitions, as well as how objects around the collection resonate with them today as they work from home. Click the link below to watch all videos in the series!

Explore the Keithley Gift

Just before the museum closed its doors in March 2020, the CMA recieved a transformative gift of over 100 artworks from the collection of Joseph and Nancy Keithley. Explore this unique gift on our collection online, watch videos from CMA's curators, and download a screensaver or wallpaper to your computer.

Digital Archives

The museum’s digital archives include audio and visual recordings of past museum programs and events, oral histories, preliminary drawings, renderings, and works of art by artists represented in the museum’s collection.
