A gift membership supports the museum and offers a number of benefits and privileges, such as free exhibition tickets, members-only previews, and discounts in our store and café.
Members receive 20% off gift membership purchases all year long.

Gift Membership FAQ
On-site: Visit our ticket center or museum store.
Online: Choose the level of your gift from the above membership choices.
By phone: Call 216-421-7350 (10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. daily).
Members receive 20% off all year long on gift membership purchases. To receive the discount, be sure you are logged in using the email associated with your membership account. No promo code is necessary. Provide your member number to the on-site or over-the-phone associate prior to your purchase.
Ideally, the recipient’s name, mailing address, and email address are provided. If a mailing address is not provided, the gift membership package defaults to being mailed to the purchaser.
Gift memberships purchased online require two to three days to be processed and activated. Gift membership purchases made in person or over the phone are active upon transaction. In all instances, membership cards are mailed eight to ten business days after activation. The gift recipient receives a CMA onboarding email two weeks later to avoid spoiling any surprises. If the recipient of your CMA gift membership is already a museum member, an additional 12 months is automatically added to their current membership expiration date. No time is lost on either membership timeline.
Please allow eight to ten business days for the membership package to arrive before reaching out. Additional time might be necessary for the post office during busy holiday seasons. If the package has still not been received, please contact us at 216-421-7350 or membership@clevelandart.org to reprint and mail a new package.
Autorenewal of gift memberships is available but requires a call to our team to make happen. This option is only available via credit card.
A monthly payment plan is not an option for gift membership purchases. Gift memberships must be purchased with a one-time payment but can be completed by check, credit card, or cash.
Yes, gift memberships are tax deductible to the extent listed in their benefit description. Friend ($75) through Advocate ($500) memberships are fully tax deductible. Other membership levels have portions that do not apply.
