TUESDAYS

CANCELED - Still-Life Painting: Eight Tuesdays, March 24 – May 12, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Using oil or acrylic, learn the fundamentals of painting, from organizing a palette and blending, color mixing, brushwork, and glazing techniques to the elements and principles of design and composition.
Instructor: Susan Gray Bé. $240, CMA members $210.

CANCELED - Creative Drawing: Eight Tuesdays, March 24 – May 12, 1:00–3:30 p.m.
With an emphasis on creative thinking, this class develops an appreciation of concepts for modern works and other works in the CMA collection. Participants will explore creative drawing techniques and interpretations of those works using value, line, and shading.
Instructor: David Verba. $300, CMA members $270.

WEDNESDAYS

CANCELED - Drawing in the Galleries: Eight Wednesdays, March 25 – May 13, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Hone observation and technical skills as you use charcoal, graphite, and conté crayons to sketch artworks in the galleries.
Instructor: Susan Gray Bé. $245, CMA members $215; includes model fee for one session.

THURSDAYS

CANCELED - Watercolor Discovery: Eight Thursdays, March 26 – May 14, 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.
This class will acquaint beginners and those with limited experience with basic materials, a wide range of watercolor techniques, and varied subject matter. Students will be encouraged to engage with the medium to find their own personal means of expression.
Instructor: Nancy Notarianni. $300, CMA members $270.

FRIDAYS

CANCELED - Composition in Oil: Eight Fridays, March 20 – May 15, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (No class April 10)
Experiment with line, color, balance, pattern, and contrast to create both still life’s and figurative compositions in this traditional painting course. Advanced painters are encouraged to further develop ideas and techniques and to experiment with paint application.
Instructor: Susan Gray Bé. $240, CMA members $210.

Plein Air Workshop in Oil Paint and Watercolor: Four Fridays, July 8 - 29, 6:00-8:30 p.m.
Spend time outside exploring the CMA's natural landscapes. Be inspired by nature. Whether you're a beginner or more experienced, build your artistic skills and learn to express your unique vision using watercolors and oils. 
Instructor: Adrian Eisenhower. $150, CMA members $135.
Participants are responsible for purchasing their own supplies in advance.

FEES AND REGISTRATION

Adult classes: Fees vary; prices listed in each class description.

Registration is first-come, first-served. Most classes are limited to 16 participants. If minimum enrollment is not met one week before the first class, the session for that class will be canceled and all enrolled participants will be notified and refunds will be issued; no further registrations will be accepted to reinstate the class. Supply lists and class syllabi are provided within one week of the first class date unless otherwise noted. High schoolers may enroll in adult classes with guardian permission.
