The library and archives are located in the Cleveland Museum of Art. Use the north lobby steps or take the elevator to floor 2R.
Registration
Registration is required to use library and archives materials. To preregister, visit the library’s registration page.
Access to Ingalls Library Materials
All library materials, except those in the reference collection, are housed in closed stacks and must be requested for retrieval at the circulation desk for use in the Larry Sears and Sally Zlotnick Sears Reading Room. Materials are retrieved from the library stacks at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
Materials from the Ingalls Library’s Rare Book Collection will be retrieved between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.
Access to Archival Materials
All archival materials are housed in closed stacks and must be requested for retrieval for use in the archives reading room, located within the Ingalls Library. Materials are retrieved from the stacks on demand. To facilitate research needs, a prior appointment is recommended.
