What to Expect

The Cleveland Museum of Art’s (CMA) top priority is the safety of its visitors, volunteers, and staff. Read on for more information on our current protocols.

The south doors closed for the season as a visitor entry and exit point on Sunday, October 17, 2021, and will reopen in spring 2022.

What are the museum’s current protocols?

The CDC and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health recommend wearing face coverings in public settings to slow the spread of COVID-19 and the Delta variant. Effective Tuesday, August 10, 2021, the CMA is requiring everyone—all visitors, staff, and volunteers—to wear a face covering inside the building. The museum is no longer requiring advanced tickets or temperature screenings.

The museum will retain the Plexiglas barriers in the north lobby, at the information desk, in the store and in Provenance Café.

See the CMA’s full Museum PoliciesPrivacy Policy, and Terms and Conditions for more information.

What amenities are available?

Connect Online

The CMA will continue to lead in the virtual realm by maintaining production of digital assets and ways in which at-home visitors can connect with the CMA while social-distancing protocols remain in place. Home Is Where the Art Is offers an abundance of online resources and activities to access the museum’s collections and includes virtual events and programs.
