Description
In this theatrical scene, the actor Fujimura Handay holds a small wooden bucket in his hand. The bucket is "dressed" in a straw hat and a robe that is decorated with the crest of one of the Soga brothers, who were the subject of a popular Japanese tale of revenge.- Later Japanese Rotation (Gallery 113); March 18 - July 13, 2004.Transformations in Japanese Printmaking.
