A circular bronze medal is cast with a relief portrait of Martin Luther, an older man facing right. He has short, wavy hair and wears a high-collared garment with a small tie. Raised text arcs along the border: "EIN FESTE BURG IST UNSER GOTT" above and "1483 MARTIN LUTHER-D 1546" below. The metal's warm brown patina accents the fine contours of his face against a smooth background where a soft shadow falls below.
