Miniature Round Basket
early 1900s
Diameter: 1.4 cm (9/16 in.)
Location: not on view
Description
Miniature baskets were made to demonstrate the basket maker’s virtuoso skill; these tiny marvels seem to be no exception—the smallest are just a few millimeters wide but still patterned. Such fine work required dexterity both in weaving and in harvesting and preparing the plant materials used to create the basket.- "Accessions."
