A circular iron sword guard, a disc-shaped fitting, features a wedge-shaped central opening within its dark, pitted surface. On our right, a figure wearing a wide-brimmed hat sits near a gnarled pine tree above textured waves. At our left, a scrolling cloud floats in the upper left above a small, oval metallic inlay. Faint gold highlights accent these motifs, which are rendered in low relief against the somber, metallic ground.
