A circular bronze medal depicts three military commanders in relief. The central figure faces forward, flanked by two others in profile. Below them, raised text commemorates the heroes of Verdun in Roman numerals. Laurel branches frame the lower half, meeting at two small medals at the base. The medal exhibits a warm brown patina with darker shadows defining the recessed details of the uniforms and foliage.
