A vertically oriented etching in black ink with dense, diagonal lines depicts a woman with light skin tone playing a violin. Facing right, she tilts her head toward the instrument, her face obscured by heavy shadows. Her left hand grips the violin neck while her right draws the bow. A music stand sits to our right, with frenetic hatching shading the surrounding space. The signature D.C. Sturges is at the bottom right.
