Description

Were it not for the inscription in sunk relief and the man's name of a type that does not occur until the Third Intermediate Period, this stele could be easily mistaken for a work of the Old Kingdom, and for a long time it was. In fact, it was made 2,000 years later, in Dynasty 26, when artists turned to the past for inspiration.
