Description
A splendid example of the decorated pottery known as "palace ware," made only in Dynasty XVIII. It is painted with garlands imitating the real flowers with which vessels were draped at banquets. This vase was found in the palace of Amenhotep III at southern Thebes.- Purchased from Nicolas Tano, Cairo, through Howard Carter
