A circular bronze medallion in raised relief depicts an armored figure on our left holding a sword horizontally across her body with both hands. Beside her stands a gowned figure holding a staff topped with leafy branches. Below them, a fallen eagle with wide wings lies near a broken sword. A cityscape and a crest inscribed "RF" fill the background. At the base are the words "VERDUN," "ON NE PASSE PAS," and "MCMXVI."
