A circular bronze medal is cast with a low-relief scene of a tall woman in a spiked crown and draped gown. Standing at the left, she holds a flag with stars while pointing her right arm forward. Below her, three diminutive helmeted figures in military uniform traverse uneven terrain, one brandishing a bayoneted rifle. The words ST MIHIEL 1918 and E. FRAISSE curve along the right edge of the dark metallic disk.
