A vertically oriented etching with fine, overlapping shaded contours in black ink on light paper depicts an older man with a light skin tone. Facing to our right, his head tilts downward, revealing a wrinkled forehead and furrowed brow over downcast eyes. A long, thick beard flows from his face. Depicted from the chest up, he occupies the top half of the frame, leaving the lower half mostly empty with a signature at the bottom.
