A vertically oriented etching on paper depicts two men in military uniforms standing in a trench. One looks to our left while the other faces forward. Behind them, a weathered building rises with small, dark windows and hand-painted text reading "LOGE A PIED" and "LOUIS ME DE VIN." Fine hatching and cross-hatching create dense shadows across the facade. To our right, a large stack of rectangular bales leans against the structure.
