A vertically oriented etching depicts a view through a stone archway toward a distant, crumbling cathedral tower against a pale background. At the arch's apex, a carved, bearded face with curled hair looks forward. Fine hatched lines define texture and shadows on the stone. In the foreground, piles of jagged rubble and broken masonry clutter the ground, while fractured walls within the opening lead to the tall, skeletal tower.
