A horizontally oriented etching depicts a dense cluster of multistory stone buildings perched atop a sheer cliff. Fine, cross-hatched lines create deep shadows along the craggy rock face and under rooflines. A prominent, domed octagonal building rises on the left. To the right, smaller houses with windows and balconies descend the ridge. Low, sketched hills mark the horizon. The detailed linework captures the verticality of the architecture and the rugged terrain.
