A vertically oriented print in black ink depicts Johann Sebastian Bach from the waist up, his name printed across the top. Facing slightly toward our left, he looks at us with a stern, set mouth. He wears a densely curled wig and a dark coat. His right hand rests in his lap. Fine stippling and etched lines create a grainy texture in the light background and soft shadows on his light skin tone.
