A circular bronze medal, aged with a dark brown patina, features a relief design of an airplane emerging from stylized clouds. Two clusters of diagonal rays flank the aircraft. Below, a hand clenches an upright torch between the flight's departure and arrival dates. Text curves along the borders, naming the Spirit of St. Louis and the flight's duration. Small inscriptions naming the publisher and sculptor curve along either side of the medal.
