A circular bronze medal features a relief of Dionysus facing toward our left. The god has a long, wavy beard and grape clusters in his hair. His bust rests above a shallow bowl, encircled by a dotted border. Two rings of capital letters read, "HAIL TO DIONYSUS WHO FIRST DISCOVERED THE MAGIC OF THE GRAPE." Floral rosettes separate each word. The dark brown metal shows highlights on the textured lettering and facial features.
