A circular bronze medal, dark brown with golden highlights, has a central shield holding three open books inscribed "VE," "RI," and "TAS." Leafy branches curve upward from a ribbon bow at the base, framing the shield. A raised border of Latin text reading "ACADEMIAE HARVARDIANAE TRECENTESIMO ANNO MDCCCCXXXVI" encircles the design. Ridged notches detail the outer edge, which casts a soft shadow on a gray surface.
