A circular bronze medal features a Latin inscription circling a central image on a dark, textured field. The inscription reads "ACADEMIAE HARVARDIANAE TRECENTESIMO ANNO MDCCCXXXVI." Centered within a leafy wreath tied with a ribbon is a shield displaying three open books. The upper left and right books are inscribed with "VE" and "RI," while the lower book reads "TAS." A serrated border frames the composition.
