A two-sided bronze medal depicts circular scenes in low relief. Left, 'THE OLD WORLD 1939': a kneeling woman and standing child appear before ruins as soldiers on horseback charge through the sky. Right, 'THE NEW WORLD 1939': a seated woman and child read an open book before skyscrapers, airplanes, and a radiant sun. A basket of fruit sits at their feet. Both sides feature smooth, rounded forms with a warm bronze finish.
