A horizontally oriented etching in black ink depicts Saint Francis of Assisi, a man with a light skin tone. Shaded with fine lines and draped in heavy robes, he kneels in a rugged landscape with arms outstretched toward a winged figure. Before him stands a stone altar with a crucifix and skull. To our left, a second man kneels in prayer. Mountains and a distant castle rise behind dense trees in the background.
